The Zakopane Jazz Spring is a musical event which has become a permanent feature in the cultural calendar of Zakopane. It was organized for the first time at the beginning of May 2004, when the European Union was enlarged by new members, including Poland. In addition to contemporary accents, the festival is also perfectly in line with tradition, as jazz in Zakopane resounded as early as in the 1930s. Year by year, the number of jazz fans increases and the Festival continues to develop with music lovers and all visitors coming to the Tatra Mountains in spring in mind.
This year, artists will perform on as many as three different stages and present jazz from various stylistic horizons. Musical events will take place in the hall of the Municipal Art Gallery and inside the Aries Hotel.
During the Jazz Spring 2022, on 30 April in the interiors of the Aries Hotel, a very talented saxophonist will perform, but also a vocalist and composer - Patsy Gamble. The list of those with whom she has worked is extremely long, but it is worth noting the stylistic range in which Patsy moves gracefully: Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, Steve Winwood or Chris Farlow, but also Sister Sledge, Gypsy Kings or Glorya Gaynor. During Jazz Spring she will present her compositions in Smooth - Funky style, but also a lot of standards and popular songs: Pick Up The Pieces, Summertime, Comin' Home Baby or Isn't She Lovely. Patsy Gamble will perform as follows: Patsy Gamble - saxophones and vocals, Łukasz Gorczyca - bass, Roman Jońca - keyboards, Artur Malik - drums.

On the 1st of May Rasm Almashan, a unique vocalist, will perform in front of you. Half Polish, half Yemeni, she is a songwriter and composer with an original, dark and intriguing voice, faithful to the music she grew up on. In Rasm's songs, which you will be able to see during her performance in Hotel Aries, one can hear influences of ethno and oriental music from Arabic and African countries in modern arrangements. The artist creates her compositions in the style of World Music and open improvisation. She co-founded the bands: Kultura de Natura and Soomood. The end of 2019 brought her long-awaited author album. The album YEMENIA has been increasingly successful. The album was in the TOP20 of the World Charts Music Europe for three months - voted for by music journalists affiliated with about 50 European radio stations. Rasm herself says this about her music: YEMENIA is a very colourful album in the World Music style. Arabia and Africa sounded together here, dressed in European sounds. It is world music, inspired by the sounds of Yemen, which I remember from my childhood. The message of the album is to build bridges between the Middle East and the Western World, an appeal for peace for Yemen." During Jazz Spring 2022, on 1 May, the group will perform as follows: Adam Lemańczyk - keyboards, Mateusz Szemraj - oud, Adeb Chamoun - percussion, vocals, Paweł Dobrowolski - drums, Bartozzi Wojciechowski - bass guitar.
